Mostafa Kherqepoush is a prominent Iranian film editor with a rich career spanning over three decades.
He graduated in Film Editing from the IRIB University in 1980 and later earned a degree in English Translation from Allameh Tabataba'i University in 1991.
His journey in cinema began in 1991 as an assistant editor on the film ‘The Secret of the Red Spring’ directed by Seyyed Ali Sajadi Hosseini.
Over the next few years, he assisted on four additional films, including: ‘The Angel’s Day’ (directed by Bahram Afkhami, 1993), ‘Meeting’ (directed by Mohammad-Reza Honarmand, 1994), ‘Love Story’ (directed by Alireza Davoudnejad, 1995) and ‘Shadow to Shadow’ (directed by Ali Jakan, 1995).
Kherqepoush’s first solo editing credit was the 1993 feature ‘Transit’ (directed by Seyyed Ali Sajjadi-Hosseini). Since then, he has edited numerous iconic Iranian films.
Kherqepoush has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to Iranian cinema:
- Crystal Simorgh for Best Editing - 22nd Fajr International Film Festival (2004) for ‘Duel’ (directed by Ahmad-Reza Darvish).
- Golden Statue for Best Editing - 9th Iran Cinema Celebration (2005) for ‘Duel’.
He has also been a frequent nominee for his outstanding editing:

- 36th Edition (2018) for ‘The Truck’ (directed by Kambozia Partovi).
Kherqepoush has worked on several critically acclaimed films, showing his versatility and mastery of film editing. Notable works include: ‘The Pear Tree’ (1998), ‘May Lady’ (1998), ‘Two Women’ (1999), ‘The Girl in the Sneaker’s (1999), ‘Under the Skin of the City’ (2000), ‘Turtles Can Fly’ (2004), ‘Marriage Iranian Style’ (2005), ‘The President’ (2007), ‘The Maritime Silk Road’ (2011), ‘Crime’ (2011), ‘Metropole’ (2014), ‘City of Mice 2’ (2015) and ‘My Brother Khosrow’ (2016).
